Binocular Inspector

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced an Binocular Inspector in the within the Derby Facility.
In this role, you will be working on some of the best products in the industry across all the major engine projects and some of the best technology. You will focus on the inspection of Compressor discs and drum assemblies, working to instructions, specifications & standards. You will preferably be self-motivated and be able to work with little supervision as part of an integrated high performing team. The role will require the candidate to be computer literate as you will be required to use various software applications.

What you will be doing:
In this role you will operate in a busy, world-class engineering and manufacturing environment and will be responsible for delivering the targets to meet customer requirements. Your responsibilities will include:
- Setting up and standardising equipment, systematically inspecting parts, interpreting and evaluating for acceptance or rejection, and documenting results.
- Raising failed inspection and correction documentation.
- Operation of the CAPP MES work booking system and INSPECT inspection results booking system.
- Be thoroughly familiar with the scope and limitations of the technique/method.
- Be familiar with the codes, standards and other contractual documents that control the method as used.
- Have a basic knowledge of relevant product manufacturing and inspection technology.
- Where applicable, have a basic knowledge of operational experience and its effects upon hardware.
- Working to the relevant Rolls-Royce Quality & Health, Safety & Environmental Procedures.
- Undertaking basic housekeeping tasks, including 5s activity.
Position requirements:
- Ideally skilled at use and understanding of stereo binocular inspection equipment.
- Skilled at interpretation of manufacturing instructions and drawings.
- Working to Standard Operating Procedures, Quality Standards & tech Instruction.
- Qualified lifting and slinging, manual handling.
- Knowledge and ability of compliance with Health, Safety & Environment policies.
- Knowledge of Asset care.
- A good team worker who is willing to support others and is open, trustworthy and reliable.
- Positively influences others.
- Drive for results and ability to prioritise.
