Job Description

Job Title: Service Operations Officer - MRO Project Desk

Working Pattern: Hybrid (3 in office days a week)

Working Location: Indianapolis, IN

As a member of the Rolls-Royce MRO Service Team, you will play a key role to help drive the business performance of MRO Services.  The Project Desk is a support position within the MRO Services organization aligned to a MRO Value Stream.  It is a key resource for the Value Stream Manager and will interface daily with the MRO service provider.  You will be able to coordinate many kinds of operational activities in a technically diverse global environment. In this role you will travel both domestically and internationally up to 10%.

What you will be doing:

  • Support the MRO Services Value Stream Manager, Cost Manager, Launch Manager, and Quality Engineer to ensure cost, quality, and delivery performance objectives are met for the value stream
  • Ensure the status of all engines is understood, recorded, and can be clearly articulated at all times as well as Engine Management Plan (EMP) is understood and utilized by our service providers to create work scopes
  • Manage the Engine Removal Report (ERR) Process and lead Technical Review Committee (TRC) calls to support work scope development
  • Approve engine work scopes and subsequent revisions
  • Identify and resolve constraints for each engine that impact MRO performance
  • Liaise with Engineering to drive solutions for Technical Variances, Repair Solutions, and Process Improvements

Basic Requirements:

  • Associate degree with 4+ years of aviation experience, OR
  • Bachelor's degree with 2+ years of aviation experience, OR
  • Master’s degree, OR
  • JD/PhD, OR
  • 6+ years of aviation experience in lieu of a degree
  • In order to be eligible for consideration, you must be a U.S. Citizen or U.S. Permanent Resident

Preferred Requirements:

  • Knowledge and understanding of gas turbine maintenance and repair processes and procedures
  • Familiarity with air worthiness regulations
  • Ability to prioritize, work independently or in a team environment with a strong customer focus
  • Ability to develop and maintain relationships with shop personnel
  • Understand and communicate technical details and solve complex technical issues
  • Demonstrate strategic ability, problem solving, and decision making
  • Experience working with multiple business functions, both technical and non-technical
